Archive for March, 2008

Hey guys! A quick status update:

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I’ve gotten a few emails asking about the lack of updates, and I figured I should catch you guys up a bit.

Right around page four’s update, I had a few conventions that kept me away from my drawing board for three weeks. Following that, I found out that a certain widely-known apparel chain - that I’m a vendor with - had stolen my company logo and reproduced it en mass on tote bags. I spent a week tracking down a lawyer, another few days gathering evidence for the case, and a few more in correspondence with said team of lawyers. I worked on a few illustrations and a strip for the upcoming Guest Strip Project, and then spent the Easter holiday with my family.

Needless to say, outside of my journal comic, it’s been difficult for me to find extended periods of time to sit down and draw. Let me assure you that this is extremely frustrating for me, as I know it has been for you as well. I’m sad to say that I’ve currently fallen ill, so it will take me a few more days to get back to my drawing table. I promise, though, that as soon as I can sit at my drawing table without drowning in snot and phlegm, I will be updating every day for a few weeks until we are caught up with issue one.

In other news, I will be exhibiting at The Spring Line Up here in San Diego on March 30th, and then at The Bamboozle Left on April 5th-6th up in Irvine. So if you’re in the SoCal area, I totally recommend stopping by and bugging me about the comic. (And possibly buying some merch? Sales keep my bills paid.)

Much love,
- Rachel
