Tutorial:

Create a preview of your button for your website.

Open your file in Photoshop.

Turn on the layer entitled Inner Circle. Using the bucket tool, fill the outside of the circle white. This should cover everything that won't be shown on the front of the button.

In the Layer menu, select "Flatten Image". It will prompt you with the question "Discard hidden layers?" Click "OK". This will automatically flatten everything into one locked layer and rename it "Layer 0". Unlock the layer by double clicking it in the Layers palette on the right.

Create a new layer using the New Layer button at the bottom of the Layers palette (circled in red below) and fill it with white. Drag this new layer ("Layer 1") underneath the layer with your button on it. ("Layer 0")

Use the magic wand tool and select the white around your button design. (Make sure you have "Layer 0" selected!) And hit 'delete' on your keyboard.

Right click on "Layer 0" in the layer palette and click "Blending Options". This will open the Layer Style window and give you a lot of options. Before we move onto the next step, make sure the 'Preview' option box is checked.

Click the option box next to the words "Bevel and Emboss", then click on the words themselves. The options for this tool should come up. Drag the 'Soften' option all the way to the right (in our example, this is listed as "16"), and adjust the 'Size' option over until it looks right on your button. (In the example, it's listed as "18".)

Click the option box next to the words "Drop Shadow", then click on the words themselves. The options for this tool should come up. Move 'Distance' to about 6px. Drag and adjust 'Spread' and 'Size' until it looks right on your button. (It looks best to have 'Size' larger then 'Spread'.) Click 'OK'.

Using the magic wand tool, select the negetive space around the button on "Layer 0".

In the Select menu, choose "Feather". (Or you can click Alt+Ctrl+D, which ever is easier for you.) This will bring up the Feather menu. Set it to 2 pixels and click OK.

Then click the Delete key on your keyboard three times. This will soften the buttons edge and get rid of the red circle.

Right click on "Layer 0" in the layer palette and click "Blending Options" again. Then check the box next to "Inner Shadow" and click on the words themselves for the options.

Drag the opacity up so that it defines the button's edge. In the example, I've dragged it up to 77%.

In the Layer menu, select "Flatten Image" again. This will automatically flatten the layers into one locked layer and rename it "Background".

That's about the gist of it. If you would like a smaller preview image - like those on Poseur Ink - you can resize the image in a few ways listed below:

In the Image menu on the upper left, select "Canvas Size". Change the image from 390x390 pixels to 333x333 pixels.

In the Image menu on the upper left, select "Image Size". Change the Resolution to 72, and edit the width to whatever size you would like your preview image to be. Ours are 100 pixels wide.

Click 'OK' and save for web.
