SDCC Report

San Diego was definitely a weird one this year. With attendance numbers at seemingly normal levels, the floor still felt empty. (I even walked around the floor with ease several times!) I don’t know if this had anything to do with the awesome Scott Pilgrim Experience across the street from the con this year, or what; but it weirded me out. (As a die hard fan, I can say the Scott Pilgrim Experience was awesome, though! Custom shirts, flipbooks, garlic bread… what more can a girl ask for?)
But yeah, strange attendance aside, we had a good time this year! We tabled with Ed Brisson of New Reliable Press, and it was great to hang out with him and some of his family at greater lengths. We were also between Tammy Stellanova and Wild Things Creations. (A table down from Real Gone Girl Studios and across from Mollycules.) So we had a fantastic group of artists and friends in our direct vicinity. We also had Katie and Shaggy Shanahan and Robert Iza staying at our apartment, so we were surrounded by sweet artists wherever we went. (Plus, we had the company of Steve Orlando throughout the show. Which is always a delight!)
Many burritos and nice sit-down meals were devoured, many You Tube videos were watched, and many great new friends were made. Not much else to say about that.
One awesome thing that came through the show: we now carry New Reliable Press books in the store! So, if you’re a fan of awesome indie artists and need a new fix: go check out Ed’s published works!
