Hey all,
A quick last-minute end of the month newsletter!
First a foremost, a reminder to go out to your local comic shop and pre-order our new anthology, Side B: The Music Lover’s Comic Anthology.
It includes a ton of up-and-coming artists as well as lots of comic icons like Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy), Ryan Kelly (Local), Jim Mahfood (Clerks), and Brandon Graham (Multiple Warheads). There’s also Xeric Grant winners like Colleen Frakes (Tragic Relief) and Box Brown (Love is a Peculiar Thing) and album cover artists like Mitch Clem, Dave Crosland, and Cristy Road. So it’s super diverse and awesome. very cool stuff, and well worth $22.
Ryan Kelly put it very succinctly:
"I’m going to have to ask you very earnestly to PREORDER this book. Preorders really help this type of project. Preorder now in April. Preorder with a pair of sox . Preorder with a fox. Preorder on a train with a goat. PREORDER!
I can see that a lot of passion went into this project from all the creators and it seems like this book (Side A) prefaces the wave of music comic anthologies out there.
You can find all the info for the book and a list of creators as well as a downloadable order form for the book at www.poseurink.com/sideb/"
The initial pre-order that will determine whether or not this book is carried in stores throughout the country/world ends on April 30th – so that gives you 4 days (including today) to run out to your local shop and ask them to order you a copy.
If you don’t know where your local shop is, you can find it online at: www.ComicShopLocator.com
Also, we’re running a contest over at Absolute Punk where 5 lucky winners will receive advance copies of Side B. The grand prize winner will receive a copy of: Side B, Side A, and the Winter Bloo seven inch featuring San Diego bands Get Back Loretta and Fight Fair.
If you’ve already pre-ordered, that’s just fine. Go and enter the contest anyway. You can always give it to a friend! Music and comics: bringing friends together since 2007.

Hey guys,
Our anthology Side B: The Music Lover’s Comic Anthology is finally available for pre-order through Diamond’s Previews catalogue. (It’s in the April edition on page 282.) Not only did they give is a "Spotlight On" feature, they also labled it "Certified Cool" – so you know the legitimately awesome.
I know most everyone likes to buy from us directly at conventions, but we need to have over 300 pre-orders by the end of the month for Diamond to continue to carry it. So I’m urging y’all to pre-order this time around. (If you don’t know where your local comic shop is, you can find it online at: ComicShopLocator) There is also a handy flier available here to take to your comic shop to help them order it for you!
Here are the specs for anyone that’s missed out:

Music touches our lives every day. It is an influential and defining part of all generations and cultures. Poseur Ink has compiled an anthology full of stories about the influence that music can have on life – be it the life of the artist as and individual or on the creative process. Created by veteran and ingénue artists alike, Side B contains over 200 pages of lost lovers, rocking out, spirit guides, ghosts, and dinosaurs – it’s like an action adventure comic for the music lover in all of us.
The line up of artists includes such comic icons as Jeffrey Brown (Clumsy, I Wish I was Small), Brandon Graham (Multiple Warheads, King City), Ryan Kelly (Local, New York Four), and Jim Mahfood (Grrl Scouts, Clerks); bringing personality and flair to an already intriguing book of stories.
Whether you’re an audiophile or a comic nerd, you will be delighted with this unique and electrifying read.
Format: Trade Paperback, 232 pages Pre-order: Diamond Order Code APR090973 In Stores: June 3rd, 2009 Price: $22.99 USD ISBN: 978-0-615-22080-2
New in the store this month is Mike’s newest creation the "I Got No Arms…" shark shirt. He has this to say on the subject: "Yes, another shark tee. It’s my first shark tee, but I understand the market has been ‘flooded’ with them. (God that was a horrible pun.)" Printed on aqua American Apparel tees with waterbased ink, so it’s not too thick of a print. Feels soft, but sturdy. Not to mention they’re eco-friendly!
Also new this month (sort of) is the triumphant return of my webcomic, Primary. There was an update yesterday, next week will be Wednesday Friday updates, and then we’ll get back to a M/W/F schedule.
Speaking of awesome comics, I recently decided to start selling the original artwork for Intentionally Left Blank strips and related artwork. They range from $50-$150. I know it’s kind of steep right now, but it’s actually very cheap compared to everyone else in webcomics. (I promise!) Please feel free to check that out.
This weekend, April 4th-5th, I’ll be exhibiting at Emerald City Comicon. I’ll be at table E-14 in Artist Alley. I’ll have all the comic-related shirts and all of our comics with me, as well as a small selection of buttons and the Side B mock-up.
Also this weekend, April 4th-5th, Mike will be exhibiting at Bamboozle Left. He’ll be in an E-Z Up somewhere in the Vendor Village with all of our shirts, copies of Side A and Winter Bloo, and all of our buttons.
That’s all I can think of at the moment. If I’ve forgotten anything, I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted!
Heart, Rachel
